About my work

Through extensive transdisciplinary research involving visual, live art, video and experimental performance practice and theory, I have explored a broad range of ideas, developing a body of work, disseminating, organising and devising projects, working both independently and collaboratively. Key areas of interest remain the Baroque, ecosophy and theories of lived perception, Butoh and Tarantism, My movement and performance research is guided, linked and enabled by sound and drawing, acoustic ecology, active listening and hearing (binaural and auditory discrimination), physical vulnerability/impediments and embodied performance taking place.

I am a visiting lecturer, and continue to facilitate workshops, giving talks and seminars at various universities, centres and arts establishments.

I am currently researching for a PhD at Roehampton University on ‘Bodyment’: The Acoustic Body in Place and Performance, as exemplified in site-specific acoustic ecology and movement-based live art. Here I posit ‘place’ as a process of becoming, between body and environments (auditory and acoustic) and specifically, in the Deleuzian sense of ‘becoming animal’ and ‘becoming insect’. My process of making work involves taking an immersive and embedded approach to auditory site research, exploring the relation between the environments of body and the immediate acoustics of site.
